Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is all set to appear on a Netflix docuseries following their Megxit in 2020
After their dramatic Megxit in 2020 from the British Royal Family, the Sussexes have settled down in Los Angeles with their two children, Archie, and Lilibet, who was born after the incident in 2021. The royal couple is all set to appear in a Netflix docuseries that will apparently tell the story of the couple and their experiences in the Royal Family.
Now, Meghan seems like she is not happy with the outcome of the series and alleged that the documentary was not supposed to turn out how she and Prince Harry were told. She also expressed her disappointment and said that she hoped that the director Liz Garbus would’ve done it differently.
“It’s nice to be able to trust someone with our story — a seasoned director whose work I’ve long admired — even if it means it may not be the way we would have told it,” Markle told a leading daily. She further added, “But that’s not why we’re telling it. We’re trusting our story to someone else, and that means it will go through their lens.”
On the other hand, Netflix executives and the filmmakers of the series expressed their concern on how Prince Harry and Markle’s words to them about the royal family contradict with Harry’s upcoming book. One said, “Then Harry and Meghan made significant requests [to filmmakers] to walk back content they themselves have provided, for their own project.”
If reports are believed to be true, the Sussexes further want some edit on the final outcome of the show regarding the royal family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla.
Netflix had been eyeing to release the highly anticipated docuseries in December, a month after the season premiere of “The Crown.” However, now the streaming giant reportedly had postponed it until 2023 after reveiv backlash.
