Tyler Perry Collaborator Zuri Craig Dead At 44

Tyler Perry’s colleague Zuri Craig, a contestant on America’s Got Talent, has passed away. It is with tremendous grief that we announce the departure of our dear son, brother,

and friend, Zuri Craig, the family of Craig said in a tribute posted on his official ZoReMi Entertainment Facebook on Sunday. In anticipation, we appreciate your prayers. Please respect our privacy at this unbearable time of loss.

His cause of death has not been disclosed by the family, who just confirmed that he died on Friday. In 2015, Craig made an appearance on “AGT,” wowing the panel of judges and the crowd with a performance with singing partner Jeffrey Lewis.

On the show, the two came in fifth place. But before that, Craig was becoming well-known in the field. Tyler Perry first became aware of him and Lewis through the YouTube covers they were posting in 2009. According to TMZ,

this led to the actor being cast in some of Tyler’s “Madea” productions. In “Madea’s Big Happy Family,” “Madea Gets a Job,” and “A Madea Christmas,” Craig has appeared in or contributed to a few films.

The two appeared on Oprah as well. Beginning in November, he was slated to produce the live show “Soul Food Live” in Atlanta. Zuri was only 44 years old when he passed away. R I P.
