When it comes to the legendary songstress Stephanie Mills there are few facts that are certain: (1) She is a SANGIN’ somebody; (2) She’s still sexy as ever at 62; (3) she’s a 4’9″ feisty woman, who always speaks her mind; and (4) when it comes to standing up for her ex-boyfriend, Michael Jackson, she is most definitely his ‘ride-or-die type of chick’.
The latter description of Ms. Mills could not be more evident in her latest display of outspokenness, regarding the Leaving Neverland documentary and everyone involved…including Oprah.
In case anyone out there didn’t know that the “Feel Good” singer dated MJ back in the day, we’ll break down their monumental coupled up era shortly. For now though, let’s dig into how Stephanie Mills has just put Oprah Winfrey, HBO, and MJ’s accusers all in their places over the ‘lies’ the accusers told about her ex.
In a lengthy online post, Mills had much to say about HBO’s documentary and the discrepancies it’s exposed. Scroll down to get a load of this…
Mills Calls Oprah & HBO “Ambulance Chasers…
After several parts of MJ’s sex abuse accusers, Wade Robson’s and James Safechuck’s, claims were exposed for being either fictitious or having been altered by them on several occasions, Mills took to social media to go OFF. She also slammed Oprah and HBO for giving them a platform:
We live in this new way of life where being first is better than being correct! They slandered his name, they tried to ruin his image, they wanted the ratings, they wanted the likes and clicks and all they got was embarrassed and humbled for being ambulance chasers! #HBO, #Oprah and all involved, owe my friend #MichaelJackson, his family and friends an apology for what they did.
I really want y’all to have that same energy to right what y’all know was so wrong when y’all took the word of two individuals that had zero credibility when y’all sat down with them. You can’t blame them for trying, however when the pros go low…we go high! #GodDontLikeUgly…and he ain’t that cool with pretty either. What y’all did was unprofessional and ugly! We have got to do better and we have to stop with the assignation of people who are no longer here to defend themselves. I love and miss you Michael. Go ahead my friend and Moon Walk into your greatness. Because NO weapon formed against you shall prosper
As you can see, Ms. Mills had a LOT to get off her chest…understandably so.
In a past interview on Mo’Nique’s talk show, Stephanie Mills gladly gave a lil’ insight about the time she dated MJ:
Mills: “At that time, I was what- 15, 16 years old – and every girl in America wanted to be with Michael Jackson. And I just KNEW that I was gonna be Mrs. Michael Jackson.
Now …I will say this, he was TRULY my boyfriend, now I don’t know if I was his girlfriend, but he was TRULY my boyfriend, okay?!! And we spent a LOT of time together. I got a chance to spend a LOTTA time with him, especially when…he would come to the show [“The Wiz” Broadway play when Mills starred as “Dorothy”] almost everyday and sit back and watch…and I got a chance to go to the house. So we became really, really, really, really good friends and I was REALLY in love. I just knew I was gon’ be Mrs. Michael Jackson. […]
I was washing his clothes, I stayed with him on Sutton [inaudible]. … I made rice for him one day and he said the rice was real runny, because I can’t cook -I don’t profess to cook- but he ate it. I was trying to cook for him (LOL).”
When Mo’Nique jokingly said, “Now that sounds like an overnight visit…did you go to Never-Neverland?!!” Stephanie laughed, then replied:
“YEEEESSS! …Well, I will say this, I used to spend a lot of time [with Michael] and I did spend the night, but [she pauses] I did, I just spent the night (LOL).”
