A few days after Nipsey’s death, the Deputy District Attorney, John McKinney announced in his opening statement that Eric Holder and his girlfriend pulled into the parking lot on March 31st to get food from a burger restaurant in the area.
Minutes later, Eric Holder approached the rapper, who was with a larger group, and the two shook hands.
“Apparently, the conversation had something to do with [Hussle] telling Mr. Holder that word on the street was that Mr. Holder was snitching,” the attorney said in his statement. “The conversation wasn’t particularly intense. It wasn’t particularly belligerent,” he continued.
He then said that Holder was heard asking Hussle, “So you’ve never snitched?” or “Haven’t you snitched?” He then got back into his vehicle, and he and his girlfriend drove off.
McKinney explained that as the woman was driving off, Eric allegedly pulled a gun out while asking his girlfriend to drive around the block, which gave him time to load his weapon. After asking her to pull over, he told her that he would be right back.
Moments later, McKinney explained that Eric walked back over to where Nipsey Hussle was, and he fires several shots at the rapper, and he also kicked him in the head. Nipsey whispered, “you got me.”
When he got back into the car, he told her to drive away quickly. When she asked what happened, Holder threatened to slap her if she didn’t just drive. According to the LA Times, the unnamed woman has been granted immunity for her testimony.
Nipsey died from gunshot wounds to the head and torso. He was 33 years old.
