Liz Truss has resigned as Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. She has been replaced by Michael Gove.
Ms Truss was appointed to the role in July 2016, when Theresa May became Prime Minister.
Ms Truss said she had “gone too far, too fast” in implementing Brexit and that she could not “carry on as a distraction”.
Liz Truss is the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
She was appointed to this position in July 2016.
She was previously Chief Secretary to the Treasury from 2015-2016.
In her new role, Truss will be responsible for overseeing a variety of policies that affect British food and farming.

Theresa May has admitted she was wrong to have called an early general election in 2017 and pledged to take personal responsibility for her decision.
She made the admission in a speech from Downing Street on the first day of campaigning for the June 8 poll.
“I called an election because I thought it was my duty to do what I can to ensure that we have a strong government, able to put through its program and provide for issues like Brexit negotiations, but since then I have listened very carefully to what people are saying on the doorsteps and at meetings up and down the country,” she said.
