According to reports, rapper Double K of the pivotal hip hop group People Under The Stairs has passed away.
The cause of death for Double K (born Michael Turner) has not been revealed at this time. Double K and his groupmate Thes One came together as People Under The Stairs in 1997, and the Los Angeles duo dropped their debut album ‘The Next Step’ in 1998. From there, the group dropped 15 albums, including the classic 2002 ‘O.S.T.’ album.

Double K also functioned as a producer, co-producing numerous joints for the group. The group’s sound went on to shape the vibe of the underground scene on the west coast and ultimately impacted artists like Mac Miller, who paid tribute to the group on his 2011 song, “People Under The Stairs.” Condolences to the family of Double K.
